Gamma is a leading supplier of Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) in the UK, German, Spanish and Benelux business markets.

With a range of UCaaS, Mobile and Connectivity services, Gamma provides robust and secure solutions that enable organisations to communicate, collaborate and offer a better customer experience.

I was challenged to create a better user experience for one of their legacy products which have over 100+k users navigate through the application each month. By defining five main areas across the product, I started creating multiple user flows based on the personas that used the product to help me streamline and make the processes much simpler and easy to use. I would user test each flow and journey and gather as much feedback as possible to find out if this specific flow was a success or needed a little more tweaking.

I ran and proposed the idea of creating an accessible design system that we could use throughout our products. Currently we had lots of inconsistencies throughout all of our design files as well as our coding standards. The idea was to create a design system that designers and developers could use to create consistency and allowed people to create more awesome stuff instead of spending their valuable time constantly tweaking bugs or creating layouts from scratch.

NOV 2019 – SEP 2021

Experian is a global leader in consumer and business credit reporting and marketing services.

They unlock the power of data to create opportunities for consumers, businesses and society. At life’s big moments – from buying a home or car to sending a child to college, or growing a business exponentially by connecting it with new customers – Experian empower consumers and our clients to manage their data with confidence so they can maximise every opportunity.

Working at Experian, I create advanced Enterprise software solutions that help protect consumers and businesses from fraud crimes and identity theft.

I am responsible for the design of our flagship products called PowerCurve Insights and Experian One. Through research and user studies I work to identify true user needs and objectives and turn them into personas and other actionable findings to share with Product Management and Engineering teams.

I combine this evidence to help solve problems with creative problem solving, produce user journeys/wireframes, design experience and intuition to establish a design that can be adaptable now and in the future for a long product lifetime.

Working within a group of UX practitioners for the Decision Analytics team and closely liaising with the EDS Team, I contribute towards our Experian Design System (EDS), this enables our global teams to build consistent UX patterns, and customer-focused experiences more efficiently.

JUL 2019 – NOV 2019

HYPE. began as a self-funded project, designing printed clothing and accessories. After winning a t-shirt printing competition, HYPE. had its first batch of stock, which sold out in a matter of hours. Within Months, HYPE. had started to evolve into one of the UK’s most recognisable brands.

Working alongside collaborations such as Disney, Toy Story, Pride, Playstation, Budweiser and Specsavers. Looking through customer feedback, this allowed me to create a strategic roadmap and structure the areas that needed significant improvement.

Working on streamlining the checkout process and adding functionality to show stock availability. I implemented a fully customisable account area that users could populate to give them a personalised experience while browsing the website and placing orders.

By improving these areas, it gave users a complete end to end process that could be finalised in just two clicks; this meant happy returning customers!

JUN 2016 – JUL 2019

STERIS deliver a range of specialist outsourced services to healthcare providers and other clients concerned with health management. These services are aimed at supporting customers to improve the quality and efficiency of their activities while reducing risks to their patients.

STERIS’ largest service is the provision of outsourced sterilisation for medical device manufacturers and healthcare providers such as acute hospitals. Also, they are a leading provider of linen services, a manufacturer of infection control products and a provider of specialist laboratory services.

My challenge was to create a seamless user experience across the three different software platforms that STERIS develop. Working closely with our partners at the hospital facilities, I liaised with management staff and technicians that used the software daily. to help make improvements and develop solutions in a lean process.

Designing process flows, user journeys and user configurations, followed by a couple of on-site visits. Once these are agreed, I would create storyboards and mock wireframes up to put in front of key stakeholders in the business.

After the wireframes and system configurations had been agreed, I worked on the user interface and prototypes. This allowed me to show the features to staff and get first-hand user feedback.

MAY 2015 – JUN 2016

UNiDAYS are the world’s leading Student Affinity Network.

Connecting brands and services with 142m students in 32 countries, building lifelong brand affinities. Students are the future, and the global student population is 208m. These are the future doctors, lawyers, and VPs with the highest lifetime value of any consumer segment. Your best customers of the future are the students of today.

Researching into current design trends, patterns and technologies to help me make decisions within the long term plan when creating features and making improvements across the UNiDAYS websites, mobile site and native applications that got later released.

Once a concrete solution had been agreed, the wireframes and user interface would be accepted and worked on, using prototyping tools to show the latest designs to crucial stakeholders before development took place.

Once development was complete, I would test the user interface in multiple languages, devices and scenarios to try and break the design I created and flush out any bugs that arose.

JUN 2014 – MAY 2015

See Tickets are one of the largest ticket companies in Europe which have the muscle of a big organisation while holding all the values of a small one.

It’s this attitude that makes us different – we’re passionate about events – and getting you to the ones that you want to see. We also care about exceptional service and treating people as individuals.

We want the first name people think of when they want to go to a live event to be See. We are continually working on delivering the best service from enthusiastic, bright people, and extending the breadth of our product so you will be able to get tickets for anything you want from us.

Creating user journeys and wireframes to show the expected behaviour patterns on website and mobile site minimised any possible issues or outcomes that may allow the user to get stuck or unable to complete the process they were going through.

Once the wireframes are signed off, I would create the user interface and prototypes, followed by working closely with the development team to develop successful feature enhancements.

After analysing the developed feature on Google Analytics, I could keep an eye on user behaviour and look out for high percentages of user drop-offs. If this happened, I would tweak the process and reevaluate.

OCT 2013 – DEC 2014

DE22 develop working partnerships ensuring we ingrain our strategic and creative expertise into your business. The outcome is clear, consistent branding across all of your marketing.

At DE22, we carry out our ‘distillation process’ to create the underlying marketing messages and touchpoints while getting under the skin of the consumer. We bridge the gap between business, commercial creative design, and Return on Investment. We launch or realign your product or service to the market.

Preparing marketing touchpoints, websites, sector-specific campaigns and consumer-specific marketing materials that have a Return on Investment focus.

Working within a close-knit team on big digital projects, designing responsive websites and liaising with clients to get the most out of their requirements.

Creating Functionality Reports and Site Maps to view how the Mobile and Desktop website should look, work and flow. Site maps are the general layout of the website, giving the client a high-level overview.

I would create mobile interfaces, as well as prototypes to give myself a better idea of how the site would look, then tweak areas accordingly if I felt they didn’t work correctly.

APR 2013 – MAY 2014

Impero Education Pro is our core cloud suite, comprised of our Impero EdTeach, Impero EdAdmin, and Impero EdProtect modules. It seamlessly combines classroom control, network management and online safety in a single web-based interface, designed to provide the three essential elements schools and colleges need for digital learning to thrive.

I worked on the company rebrand, restructuring of umbrella products and giving the software we developed a full refresh.

The software was designed to cover two sectors, Education and Workplace. Aiming to save money and time, focusing on electricity bills, printing costs, remotely controlling computers to help with internal computer issues.

I produced a wide range of print material; pens, mugs, bags, t-shirts, USB sticks, flyers, pull-up stands, brochures, these advertised each product; Education Pro, Workplace Pro, Learning Manager, Remote Manager, and YouID – these were designed in multiple languages.

Every year, we attended events that we used to show off our future development products. I designed all the exhibitions stands, these varied from a couple of meters wide to 15meters wide by 10meters high.

Internally, I rebranded our interactive PDF forms, staff handbooks, and the Impero Company Brand Guidelines, which were over 100 pages.

FEB 2012 – JUL 2012

Ikanos Consulting is the software expertise behind the innovative Golden-i headset computer, creating the future for hands-free computing.

The main priority is to ensure the company is taking full advantage of the Golden-i’s capabilities. By working together to understand the company needs, Ikanos can help save the business time and money through increased efficiency – providing a competitive advantage.

They utilise their experience in bespoke software application development to craft Golden-i solutions for clients across the world.

Working closely with the development team to design the overall look and feel of the software.

This was an exciting challenge as I had never designed anything for a head-mounted computer that was hands-free and controlled by head gestures and voice commands.

I came up with the concept of ‘LifeBoard’, this was a patented consumer project that worked seamlessly with the ‘Pro-Series’ applications. The 3 leading apps that I designed were: Paramedic Pro, Police Pro, and Firefighter Pro – with Maintenance Pro to be released later.

JAN 2011 – MAR 2011

Blue Nectar Design Consultants are a brand and packaging design consultancy that prides itself on creating intelligent and considered brand communication solutions for the drinks, cosmetics and packaging industry.

I worked on some challenging briefs for clients like Fruli, The Tangled Cider Co. and Burton Albion Football Club. I was challenged to create a style guide for the club brand.

The guide covered all areas of the club from posters and signage to how the club crest should be placed and graphics around the stadium should appear.

JUN 2010 – JAN 2012

JCB Diamond is the official manufacturer of JCB products under license. The number one construction brand in Europe and number three worldwide, JCB Diamond have set out to dominate the diamond product market with an exceptionally high-class range of products.

JCB Diamond has become one of the fastest-growing companies in this sector and has achieved an enviable reputation for their innovation, design and manufacture of world-leading diamond consumables.

I was responsible for the creation and production of all marketing collateral: brochures, flyers, newsletters, and updating all social media platforms, as well as organising blade labels and packaging to print. While working for other clients, including B&Q and Screwfix.

The biggest project I worked on was the Maxi:Cut range where I designed all the packaging and stands for the blades. These were then distributed to over 300 B&Q stores around the UK.

JAN 2010 – JAN 2011

Luck is a creative design studio. Primarily working in the areas of lifestyle, culture and B2B.

Their approach to design is very much the ‘less is more’ way of looking at things, and that principle is applied to a great mix of projects – one minute we can be layout out a magazine spread, the next we’re designing a button for a pair of jeans.

Through the year I helped Mark, I fine-tuned my planning, design and print skills.

I worked on projects like CD artwork for Shirati Jazz and Tabu Ley Rochereau. Van graphics for The Carpentry Company, based in Derby, and produced a 2011 / 2012 calendar for Whitby Morrison helping celebrate the past and present of ice cream vans.

I would also get involved in client meetings to help get a better understanding of the clients’ needs and requirements for the project.
